Music/List of Works

Bethany’s works have premiered at Arizona State University Composition Recitals and at “Opus,” an annual concert presented at the Phoenix Art Museum by ASU’s chapter of the Society of Composers. Her string quartet, “Before the Storm” was published in the 2014-2015 edition of ASU’s Lux Undergraduate Creative Review. Bethany was selected as a composition participant for the Talks Festival & Academy in Saas-Fee, Switzerland in July 2015, where her piano quintet and film music were performed.

In addition to having works featured at festivals, on various doctoral solo recitals and her own solo senior recital, Bethany has recently had music featured on a concert given by pianist Joseph Hauer in New Jersey. An avid collaborator, she worked as the assistant director/videographer for “Of Leto,” a musical thesis by colleague Alexander Tom that premiered in November 2015. Bethany completed her thesis piece, “PLACE” for string orchestra, based on the techniques of spectralism, in 2016. “PLACE” was premiered along with five other works on Bethany’s senior recital in April 2016. For the 2016 summer season, Bethany was commissioned to again write the music for the annual Saas-Fee Film Festival and Talis Festival silent film collaboration. Bethany previously held a full-time position as the Manager of Education, Youth and Community Programs for Arizona Musicfest, and was appointed the Secretary for ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts Alumni Board. In November 2017, Bethany relocated to Los Angeles to work as a Production Coordinator on the YouTube show, “Good Mythical Morning” with Rhett and Link.
